As a birth doula, my goal is to help you navigate your experience and to help you remember that you are strong, and that you can make it through your birth. My journey into doula work began over 17 years ago with the birth of my youngest brother. I bring to the table joy, confidence and peace. I strive with each family to find what is soothing to them, and help to make that happen. Pregnancy, labor and birth are beautiful. - Read through all the DAMA member bios and jot down the names of those who seem to fit what you are looking for in a doula.
- Pay special attention to the Hospital/Service Key to make sure those doulas provide the service you seek or provide support where you will give birth.
- Contact several doulas via email or phone to get general information about their availability around your due date and to learn about their specific services and fees.
- Interview two or three doulas face-to-face with your partner to decide which one is most compatible with your family and your birth or postpartum needs. For a guide to interviewing a doula, please click here.
